E. Mitchell Griffith is a founding partner in the firm of Griffith, Sadler and Sharp, P.A. He practices in the areas of automobile liability, construction litigation, premises liability, products liability, direct action suits against insurance companies, and workers' compensation.

Mr. Griffith graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C., in 1980. While there he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. After college, Mr. Griffith attended the University of South Carolina, obtained his Juris Doctor Degree in 1983, and passed the Bar that same year. Following law school, Mr. Griffith served as Law Clerk to Luke N. Brown, Jr., Resident Judge of the Fourteenth Judicial Circuit of South Carolina.

In 1984, Mr. Griffith entered private practice in Beaufort, South Carolina. In 1992, Mr. Griffith and Ms. Sadler formed the firm of Griffith and Sadler, P.A., predecessor to the firm of Griffith, Sadler and Sharp, P.A. Mr. Griffith is active in the local Bar and in the South Carolina Bar. Mr. Griffith has served as an officer of the Beaufort County Bar Association and was President from 1997-1999. Mr. Griffith is also active in the South Carolina Bar and formerly served on the Trial and Appellate Advocacy Section. He served as Chairman of the section from 2002-2003. He is a member of the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys' Association Executive Committee from 2004-present, the Defense Research Institute and American Board of Trial Advocates.

Mr. Griffith's primary area of practice is in insurance defense. He has tried cases to a verdict in all five counties of the Fourteenth Judicial Circuit which includes Beaufort, Hampton, Colleton, Jasper and Allendale counties, as well as other counties in the state courts of South Carolina. He is licensed in the South Carolina Federal District Court, United States District Court, District of South Carolina, and the United States Court of Appeals, Fourth Circuit. In 2001 he received his Civil Court Mediation Training and is actively involved in the mediation of civil cases.
